What is a Static HomePage in WordPress?
The WordPress default homepage shows a list of your recent posts.
You may not want the homepage to just show your recent posts.
You might want to display more for your target audience.
- Explain to your visitors what your site is about
- Products or services you offer
Having a static homepage for your WordPress blog can show content, videos, or any other media you want to share.
My homepage is an example of a static homepage.
You can create your homepage to look any way that you would like and that is the great thing about having a static homepage in WordPress.
It can be a simple design or something more elaborate.
You find what design will be the best choice for your target audience and create from there.
If you are not sure if you should have a static homepage, look at your competitors and see how their homepage is designed.
Do not copy your competitor’s homepage, but it will give you a good starting point for yours.
