Every site that has a lot of pages (over 20) should have a sitemap page to help visitors look for additional information you offer.

Make a Site map

If you have not made one for your site, creating one is not difficult. There are many free online generators to help you.

Here is one place helps you create your map for the major engines. XML-Sitemaps.com.

Google will even help you create a sitemap.

I use Xsitepro to build and maintain this website. They have a built-in sitemap creator. I just go to the "other" tab on my menu and click on Google Sitemap. The step by step instructions walk you through creating a map; naming the file (or use default), putting priority on each page, and much more.

There are different ways to creating your site's map but make sure it is user and search engine friendly. 

Submit your Site Map

Google - Add sitemap (you need to sign-up for Google Webmaster Central. It's free and they have many tools.)

Yahoo! -You need a Yahoo! ID (it's free to sign up) Submit it with the same link to add URL above for Yahoo!

Bing - Add sitemap

Ask.com - Add sitemap- (go all the down to the bottom and you will see the question of "does Ask.com support sitemaps - follow their procedures)

 

Google, Yahoo! and MSN joined together in November 2006 to support industry standard for site maps. This venture is located at sitemaps.org.
