Kids Make Money Online
The days of lemonade stands are long gone, but kids still want to make money.
There are kids making money on the Internet. But it does take creativity, determination and self-motivation to
succeed to the level that some of them have achieved.
Ways for kids to make money online
Blogging - Many kids (and adults) love to play games online or on the computer. Runescape,
World of Warcraft, XBox Live or any of the free arcade game sites that are available.
With the help of a parent, a kid could make money by starting a blog about some of the favorite games that they
play online. Why it is your favorite. If you are at a more advanced level with the game. Blog to help beginners
with the game. What are the different secrets you have found to get into the next level. Where the secret
"treasures" are at and how to get them. There are people everyday looking for tips, tricks and cheats for all the
different video and online games.
There are many great online games, but may not be a big name like Runescape, but still just as fun. If you know
some of the best places online to play games, you can blog about it and if the website has an affiliate program,
join to make extra money. Google Adsense is another way to make money from a blog.
eBay - Many kids buy video games, trading cards and such by using money they received from
allowances, birthdays, and holidays. Once it is played for a while, you may lose interest in the game or have beat
it. Since this was purchased by "their" money, help them sell it on eBay or Craigslist.
Create a Website - This sounds like a huge undertaking for a kid. But when Nori Evoy was just
15 she started her own site about the love of a vacation spot the family went to. Just a couple of years later, the
site is making her thousands of dollars a month. The product she used to start her website is called Site Build It.
Learn how kids can make money with the help of a parent (their credit card) and your thoughts and
ideas, you both may find a way to make money online.
Artistic Designs - If you have an artistic side, you can create your own designs and use
Cafepress to help set you up a store (or let others sell your designs). Do you have
sayings that could be put on a t-shirt, bumper sticker, coffee cup or hat? Even if you are not very artistic,
take a look at all the different designs they have available. Just think how much the people that came out with
the smilie face made with that design or the drawings of stick people with funny sayings on them.
Find a Niche - That is what Ashley Qualls did. See part of her story here. She found her niche market for girls on MySpace/social networks. If you are not sure
what a niche market is, here is the definition from Wikipedia.
Final Note on kids making money
Some of these ideas may be easy ways for kids to make money. Use your imagination, creativity and don't forget
to talk with your parents before you start any of the above. Just because you are young does not mean that you
can't make money. Heck, you may even make enough that your parents will start asking to borrow from you.
The ideas I have above need the help and guidance of parents (or guardians) to help safeguard their safety on
the Internet.
You hear more and more about how kids make money online. This may be far and few between, but if given the
proper guidance, it could happen to you.
